a) Time – “I’m spending way too much time in the day-to-day running of the business. In fact the business is taking over my life. I went into business in order for my business to provide me with a lifestyle, not take my life away from me. I need to set some strategies to help me get back in control of my business – and my life!”
b) Team – “I find it difficult to find the right staff – and keep them. Every time I go away from the business, I worry that my staff are doing the right things by me and my customers.”
c) Money – “Cash flow is always tight. I’m NOT the highest paid person in the business, for the amount of time I spend in it. My business is profitable, but I need to develop further strategies to make it even more so, in order to give me the income I deserve.”

Could you do this yourself? Of course you could. But like all of us, it’s good to have someone in your corner. At times running your own business can be pretty lonely. Or if there’s more than one of you running the show, it can also be the source of disagreement and conflict. But there is an answer. Just like all top performing individuals, it’s good to have someone watch how you “play the game” of business and then help you work to your strengths, keep the mistakes to a minimum, and occasionally act as referee, where the senior team cannot agree.

Essentially I work with successful business owners who are looking to take their businesses to the next level. You’ll have been in business for a while and have learnt the first vital lesson in business and that is, how to stay in business. No matter where we’ve been in the business world, we’ve never met a business owner who didn’t know WHAT they wanted to achieve with their business. The one thing they want to know is, HOW do I get there? I’ll work with you to put together a step-by-step plan to make those objectives a reality.
So HOW Do I Do It?
The way I work with you is very straightforward. The first thing is to have a look to see what is actually happening in the business at present. I need to get a complete understanding of what’s going on first. Then I’ll work with you to develop specific, tailored strategies to:
1) Systemise the Business
One thing I’ve learned – no business can perform unless all of the necessary systems are in place and are working correctly. What sort of systems? Things like procedures covering Operations, Finances, Administration, Sales, Marketing, Management, Technology – the list goes on. I’ll help you identify the gaps and overlaps and get them sorted.
2) Train your Team
It’s no good having great systems unless you have a team of motivated people to operate those systems. Usually the monthly wages bill is one of your largest commitments. It’s obvious you need to make the most of this by investing in maximising the team’s potential.
3) Keep you on Track
Ill meet with you on a regular basis to review your progress and make sure you are implementing the things that you said that you wanted to do to grow your business. In the meantime, I’ll be working with you, helping you to put in place the systems and strategies that will give the business forward momentum. I’m NOT your boss: I’m here to help you achieve the goals that you wanted for the business. One thing’s for sure, your business NEVER stands still. It’s either growing or declining as the market changes. I’ll be there with you to keep you focused on success.
4) Advise and Guide You
My knowledge base is substantial: I’ve confronted most of the problems you will face in my own business. Plus I have access to literally thousands of documents, procedures, spreadsheets, Power Point presentations and workshops for you to take advantage of. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel: I already have it to hand. All you need to do is customise it for your business with my help. This makes implementation much easier and faster. After all, it’s the results that are the goal here.
5) Review and Correct
Once we implement a strategy, it’s important to make sure it’s working. I’ll help you set up practical methods of measuring the results.
6) Be a Sounding Board
One of my greatest advantages for you is the simple fact that I don’t work in your business. Because I am not involved in the day-to-day running of the business, this provides me with a unique perspective in helping identify the opportunities for the business.
In addition, I’m not involved in the day-to-day politics of the business. I am seen by everyone involved as an honest broker in the process. This allows your staff and other stakeholders the freedom to approach me to discuss individual issues and get them sorted. The path to business success is thankfully a very well worn one.
